Oxbow Park offers almost any outdoor enthusiast a chance to pursue his or her favorite activity: hiking, camping, fishing, picnics. Park facilities include hiking trails, campground, four picnic areas, each with a covered shelter. One of the areas also has playground equipment, and a ball field is maintained during the summer for public use. Oxbow campground in a semi-primitive area has 30 campsites available, running water, restrooms, and showers. These facilities in connection with the nature center and Zollman Zoo, offer any visitor a number of ways to enjoy leisure time outdoors. The Dr. Paul E. Zollman Zoo house's over 30 species of wild animals native to Minnesota. Many of the zoo creatures have physical injuries that have rendered them non-releasable, while others are surplus zoo animals from other facilities.
