Rochester Certified Tourism Ambassador Program Celebrates Five-Year Anniversary With Recognition Of 108 Employees

November 30, 2016

One-hundred and eight dedicated individuals who have served as Rochester Certified Tourism Ambassadors (CTAs) for five years will be recognized for their commitment to enhancing the visitor experience at a celebration at Mayo Clinic's Healthy Living Center from 5-7 p.m. this evening.

The CTAs who will be honored completed Rochester's first CTA training program in 2011, and have maintained their certification since then. More than 1,500 front-line employees and volunteers, predominantly from the hospitality and medical fields, have been trained as CTAs since the program's inception.

The Rochester CTA program is a joint initiative of the Rochester Convention & Visitors Bureau, Destination Medical Center Economic Development Agency, and Mayo Clinic. The program, which is accredited and licensed through the national Tourism Ambassador InstituteTM, trains front-line employees to deliver quality visitor experiences that inspire guests to want to return to Rochester and share their positive experiences with others. The program demonstrates Rochester's dedication to creating an exceptional hospitality environment that secures the community's status as a destination of choice.

This evening's event includes networking and a recognition program starting at 5:30 p.m. Speakers include: Brad Jones, Executive Director of the RCVB; Mike Casey, Corporate Relations Manager of Mayo's Healthy Living and Executive Health programs, and Dr. Paul Limburg, a consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology at Mayo Clinic and medical director of Mayo Clinic Global Business Solutions.
