Rochester, Minn. has a strong history of hosting world-class sporting events in the Midwest.  The Rochester Amateur Sports Commission (RASC) attracts the country's premier events to the charming small town environment of Rochester.

Mission

The mission of the RASC is to provide leadership, guidance and expertise in attracting and administering amateur sporting events for the Rochester area.

Events

The RASC strives to sponsor quality local, regional, national and world events.  Every year the organization sponsors a variety of amateur sporting events.  Some of the events organized by the RASC include:

  • 2010 USA Weightlifting Juniors National Championship
  • 2010 NJCC Division III Basketball National Championship
  • 2010 Minnesota Swimming Age Group State Championships
  • 2010 Minnesota Swimming Senior State Championships
  • 2010 NVWA State Wrestling Tournament
  • 2010 Rochester Cup Volleyball Festival
  • 2010 NJCAA Division III Softball National Championship
  • 2010 America's Table Tennis Team Champions
  • 2010 3 on 3 Pee Wee A & B Hockey Tournament
  • 2010 3 on 3 Squirt A & B Hockey Tournament
  • 2010 Star of the North Games
  • 2010 AAU Girls Basketball 12U National Championship
  • 2010 Jennie Finch Softball Camp
  • 2010 U.S. Figure Skating Midwestern & Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championship

Facilities

Rochester plays host to a variety of sports venues, a surprising number for a city of its size.  Among the many sporting facilities in Rochester are the Mayo Civic Center, the Rochester Recreation Center, the National Volleyball Center, the University Center Rochester Regional Sports Center, Graham Ice Arena Complex, Fuad Monsour, Roy Watson and McQuillin Athletic Fields, and Miracle Field, a specially designed baseball diamond with full handicap access.
